Ohio Christian's Jackson scores 51 on his way to RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Ohio Christian University guard Marquis Jackson scored 51 points versus Huntington (Ind.) on his way to picking up River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Nov. 14-20.
A 6-0 senior from Cleveland, Ohio, Jackson averaged 29.3 points per game in three games. The highlight was 51 points in a 104-100 loss to Huntington. In that game, he was 17 for 25 from the field, 8 for 12 from 3-point range and 9 for 9 at the foul line.
He also scored 23 points and made seven treys in a loss to NAIA Division II No. 1-ranked St. Francis (Ind.). The first game of the week featured 14 points and three 3-pointers in a loss to Taylor (Ind.).
For the season, Jackson is averaging 27.0 points per game to rank fifth in the country. He is also averaging 5.4 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game, and his 44 made 3-pointers are first in NAIA Division II.
Ohio Christian (4-5) has its next game on Tuesday, Nov. 22 versus Wright State-Lake.
