#RSCgotw Volleyball: Asbury (11-3 RSC) at IU Kokomo (11-3 RSC), Saturday 10 am ET
KOKOMO, Ind. -- The final day of the RSC volleyball regular season puts the River States Conference Volleyball Game of the Week at center stage when Asbury (Ky.) University clashes with IU Kokomo on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. ET from Kokomo, Ind.
It's the opening match for both teams at the RSC Quad Match hosted by IU Kokomo, which also includes Cincinnati Christian and Midway (Ky.) in attendance. Both Asbury and IU Kokomo will have to play a match later in the day, but it is the 10 am matchup that they will need to win in order to claim the RSC Volleyball West Division title.
Asbury is 14-14 overall and 11-3 RSC having won nine straight conference matches. IU Kokomo is 21-7 overall and is also 11-3 RSC. That puts the Eagles and Cougars tied for first in the division with each two matches to play Saturday.
IU Southeast is sitting in third place in the division having completed its conference schedule at 12-4 RSC. But the winner of Asbury-IU Kokomo will control its own destiny for a possible division title and one of the top seeds at next week's RSC Volleyball Tournament at Cincinnati Christian.
Asbury will face playoff team Cincinnati Christian (8-6 RSC) later in the day at 2 p.m. while IU Kokomo will play Midway (Ky.) (0-14) to finish out its conference schedule at 4 p.m.
A 2-0 day and a 13-3 RSC final record for either the Eagles or Cougars would give them the division title. If both teams go 1-1 on the day, then a three-way tie atop the division at 12-4 RSC involving IU Southeast will go to the tiebreaker system to decide the standings.
