WVU Tech's Foster gets RSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
FLORENCE, Ky. -- WVU Tech forward Caitlin Foster scored a playoff goal to get River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 31-Nov. 5.
A sophomore from Wellington, New Zealand, Foster scored in the 80th minute to tie the Golden Bears, 1-1, in an RSC Tournament quarterfinal matchup at Asbury (Ky.).
WVU Tech had trailed, 1-0, since the 13th minute, but Foster's goal with 10 minutes remaining in regulation sent the game into overtime and eventually penalty kicks. Asbury advanced in PKs, 3-1.
Foster has six goals and two assists on the year with 14 points. WVU Tech ends the year 7-7-4 overall.
