MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- Week 3 of the River States Conference Men's Basketball Game of the Week features No. 10-ranked IU East visiting WVU Tech for an RSC East Division showdown on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. ET

IU East is 11-3 overall and is tied for the lead in the division at 3-0 RSC. WVU Tech is right behind at 7-4 overall and a game back at 2-1 RSC. Both teams already have a key divisional win under their belts this week with IU East beating Rio Grande, 92-62, and WVU Tech picking up an 88-76 win over Ohio Christian.

IU East won both meetings versus WVU Tech last season in the first NAIA meetings between the schools. The Red Wolves won the game in West Virginia by a 66-65 score on Parker Salinas' putback in the final seconds.

IU East is third in the nation with a .428 3-point field goal percentage, and Kyle Pipenger and Jacoby Claypool both rank in the top 10 in the nation in that category. Jordan Furlow averages a team-high 12.5 ppg and leads an effiecient offense that is 14th in the country shooting .409 from the field. Aaron Thomas is eighth in the nation with 10.2 rebounds per game and 11th in the nation with 1.9 blocks per game.

For WVU Tech, guard Ryan Atkins averages a team-best 20.3 ppg. Atkins is coming off of a 41-point performance in the win against Ohio Christian.

The Golden Bears have two other players averaging double figures with junior Elisha Boone at 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game and junior Michael Scott at 10.5 ppg and 6.2 boards.

WVU Tech is No. 2 in the RSC and in NAIA DII for offensive rebounds per game (16.909) and No. 1 (RSC) and No. 3 (NAIA DII) in total rebounds per game (46.455). The Golden Bears are shooting 71.6 percent from the foul line and 46.5 percent from the floor.
