#21 IU East's King repeats as RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- No. 21 IU East had junior guard Tia King claim River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Dec. 12-18, the second week in a row she's won the award.

A 5-9 native of Indianapolis, Ind., King averaged 20.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg and shot 40 percent from the field in two wins for the Red Wolves. King also shot 39 percent from long range with seven makes in 18 attempts.

King had 18 points, six rebounds and made three treys in a 79-74 win over Rio Grande in conference play. She followed that up with 22 points and 4 for 8 from long range in an 85-72 victory over WVU Tech as IU East went 2-0 in league games.

For the year, King is averaging 19.0 ppg and shooting over 40 percent from the field and long range. She has led the Red Wolves to a record of 10-3, 3-0 RSC heading into Dec. 7 at No. 7 Davenport (Mich.).
