TAKOMA PARK, Md. -- No. 10 Indiana University East (12-4) has an NAIA Division II Top 25 showdown at No. 17 Washington Adventist (12-2) on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 12 p.m. for the River States Conference Men's Basketball Game of the Week. The non-conference matchup will take place at "The Pit" in Takoma Park, Md.

The Indiana University East men's basketball team concludes its non-conference schedule with a game at No. 17 Washington Adventist University on Dec. 29.

Tipoff is at noon. This is a change from the original IU East schedule.

The NAIA Division II No. 10 Red Wolves are 12-4. The Shock is 12-2.

LAST TIME OUT

IU East is coming off of an 89-85 win against No. 2 University of Saint Francis (Ind.) on Dec. 22 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

This is the first NAIA meeting between IU East and Washington Adventist.

IU EAST STORYLINES

* This is the last non-conference game of the regular season for IU East.

* IU East is 3-3 in true road games this season.

* IU East is 3-2 this season against teams ranked in the top 25 in the NAIA Division II coaches poll.

* Jordan Furlow is the reigning River States Conference Player of the Week. Furlow leads the Red Wolves with 12.6 points per game.

* The Red Wolves are:

12-1 when they shoot .446 or better from the field.

11-1 when they score 75 or more points.

8-0 when they make 14 or more free throws.

7-1 when they have more assists than turnovers.

6-0 when they limit the opponent to less than 70 points.

RED WOLVES IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS

IU East is third in the nation with a .431 3-point field goal percentage and seventh in the nation with 4.7 blocks per game.

Jacoby Claypool is fifth in the nation with a .533 3-point field goal percentage and 44th in the nation with 4.2 assists per game.

Kyle Pipenger is 10th in the nation with a .521 3-point field goal percentage.

Aaron Thomas is 10th in the nation with 10.1 rebounds per game and 12th in the nation with 1.8 blocks per game.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

Washington Adventist has lost its last two games after a 12-0 start. The losses were against NAIA Division I power Lindsey Wilson College on Dec. 17 and against NCAA Division II West Virginia State University by a 91-75 score on Dec. 19.

The Shock is 3-0 against teams from IU East's River States Conference with a pair of wins against Point Park University plus a victory against Alice Lloyd College.

Washington Adventist is 4-0 at home this season.

Brian Bridgeforth, a 6-10 senior forward, leads the Shock with 19.1 points per game. Bridgeforth is also second in the nation with 3.3 blocks per game and third in the nation with 11.6 rebounds per game.

Washington Adventist boasts impressive defensive statistics. The Shock is fourth in the nation with 5.0 team blocks per game, 11th in the nation with a .404 defensive field goal percentage allowed and 17th in the nation with a .312 defensive 3-point field goal percentage allowed.
