IU Kokomo's Elliott claims RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors

FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Kokomo guard Trent Elliott averaged 25.5 points per game in a 2-0 conference weekend to claim River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Nov. 28-Dec. 4.

The 6-5 junior from Culver, Ind., played a huge part of IU Kokomo's RSC victories over Asbury and Alice Lloyd as the Cougars started out 2-0 in conference play. Elliott poured in 34 points on 11 for 17 field goals, 9 of 11 free throws and 3 of 6 from outside the arc in a 113-108 win over Asbury. He also had six rebounds and two steals in the game.

The Cougars then beat Alice Lloyd, 94-66, with Elliott putting in 17 points and made another three treys in six attempts. For the week, he shot 55 percent from the field, 50 percent from long range (6 for 12) and 87 percent from the foul line (13 for 15).

For the year, Elliott is averaging a team-high 22.9 ppg and has made 27 treys in nine games. IU Kokomo is 4-5 overall, 2-0 RSC and plays its next game Tuesday at Cincinnati Christian.
