RICHMOND, Ky. -- A matchup of teams battling for their respective division titles and within range of the overall KIAC regular season championship is featured as the KIAC Women's Basketball Game of the Week -- Brescia (Ky.) University (16-12, 11-4 KIAC) at Indiana East (17-9, 12-2 KIAC) on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 12 p.m. in Richmond, Ind.

Indiana East currently leads the KIAC Colonial Division, and Brescia is in second place in the KIAC Capital Division. Both teams are seeking division titles and both are trying to chase down KIAC Capital Division leader Asbury (Ky.) (15-2 KIAC) for the overall conference title, the latter of which comes with an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II national tournament.

It is also IU East's "Play 4 Kay" game. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive pink t-shirts.

LAST TIME OUT

IU East is coming off of an 87-45 win at Indiana University Kokomo on Feb. 11.

IU East beat Brescia 112-93 in Richmond last season in the only NAIA meeting between the schools.

IU EAST STORYLINES

* The Red Wolves will wear pink uniforms as part of the nationwide "Play4Kay" initiative in support of the fight against women's cancers.

* IU East leads the KIAC Colonial Division by one-and-a-half games over Point Park University.

* IU East is riding a program-best seven-game winning streak.

* IU East is 11-1 as the home team this season.

* IU East is 13-1 when it holds opponents to 70 points or less and 13-1 when it holds the opponent to a shooting percentage of .400 or less.

* Sophomore guard Tia King (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central High School) is eighth in the nation with 19.8 points per game.

* Sophomore forward Keragan Niehoff (Rushville, Ind./Rushville Consolidated High School) began the week as one of six players in the nation in the NAIA Division II Top 50 in both rebounds per game and free throw percentage. Niehoff is sixth in the nation with an .865 free throw percentage and 46th in the nation with 8.3 rebounds per game.

* IU East is 2-0 in matchups designated as the KIAC Game of the Week.

RED WOLVES IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS

IU East is 11th in the nation in free throw percentage (.751), 19th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game (14.8), 21st in the nation in defensive 3-point field goal percentage allowed (.281) and 22nd in the nation in points per game (74.7).

Tia King is also 30th in the nation with an .815 free throw percentage and 39th in the nation with 2.3 3-point field goals per game.

Sophomore guard Bailey Dreiman is 39th in the nation with 8.6 rebounds per game.

BRESCIA STORYLINES

Brescia has won its last three games, most recently a 96-86 home win against WVU Tech on Feb. 9.

Julie Whitfill, a 5-7 senior guard, is the reigning KIAC Player of the Week. Whitfill leads the KIAC and is fourth in the nation with 21.3 points per game. Whitfill is also third in the nation with an .895 free throw percentage.

The Bearcats boast one of the most efficient offenses in the nation. Brescia leads the nation with a 1.32-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Bearcats are also seventh in the nation with a +5.81 turnover margin and eighth in the nation with 9.19 3-point field goals per game.

Kelsey Kirkpatrick, a 5-7 sophomore guard, is sixth in the nation with 4.8 assists per game, ninth in the nation with 2.8 steals per game and 10th in the nation with a 2.32-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

FOR THE FANS

Free "Team Pink" t-shirts will be available for the first 100 fans.

Representatives from Reid "BRAvo!" will be on hand to accept donations toward its efforts in the fight against women's cancers in the Richmond area.

An autograph session for Junior Red Wolves members will be held after the game in the hallway outside the Tiernan Center gymnasium. Free team photos will be provided to Junior Red Wolves members.

The Richmond High School Tiernan Center is located at 380 Hub Etchison Parkway in Richmond.

General admission for this game has been reduced to $2. All students are admitted free. IU East faculty and staff are admitted free with their Wolf Card.
