KIAC WBB Player of the Week: Tia King (IU East)

FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU East's Tia King had a very strong overall week and was named the KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games Feb. 8-14.

The sophomore guard from Indianapolis, Ind., averaged 24.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.7 apg and shot 43 percent from the field to lead the Red Wolves to a 3-0 week, all of which was in conference play.

The highlight was 30 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five made 3-pointers in a 91-88 victory over Brescia (Ky.) in the KIAC Game of the Week. She provided the winning points in that game, which moved IU East into at least a share of the KIAC Colonial Division title and maintained its lead for first place in the standings.

The second-leading scorer in the KIAC at 20.2 ppg also had 26 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in a win over IU Kokomo. The other game on the week had 16 points and five rebounds versus IU Southeast.
