KIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Shaun Berry (Point Park)

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore Shaun Berry qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship for the triple jump at the Kent State Tune-Up and thus was named the KIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Feb. 15-21.

Berry, from Pittsburgh, Pa., now ranks ninth in NAIA indoor this year in triple jump with his leap of 14.49 meters at Kent State. That cleared the NAIA "A" qualifying standard, and he will compete at the NAIA national indoor meet March 5 in Johnson City, Tenn.

Berry, who had been close to qualifying for nationals earlier this season, made his qualifying leap in his next to last jump of the finals. It was good for third place at the NCAA Division I event.

He also competed in the high jump and placed 15th at 1.85 meters.
