KIAC Baseball Player of the Week: Trent Simpson (IU Southeast)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Southeast designated hitter/catcher Trent Simpson hit .571 in six games last week to earn KIAC Baseball Player of the Week accolades for March 7-13.
A senior from Gentryville, Ind., Simpson hit safely in all six games as the Grenadiers went 4-2. He was 12 for 21 with four multi-hit games. Simpson collected six RBIs, doubled twice, homered and scored a run.
For the year, Simpson is hitting .453 with three home runs and nine RBIs. IU Southeast (9-7, 4-0 KIAC) has its next games March 15 versus Shawnee State.
