FLORENCE, Ky. -- Asbury University junior right-hander Brenden Wells has won KIAC Pitcher of the Week accolades for March 14-20 after working in two outings with a 0.00 ERA.
Wells, from Covington, Ky., posted a three-hit shutout of Brescia in his only start of the week. He won the game by a score of 5-0 by striking out three, walking none and blanking the Bearcats on the three hits.
He also worked a scoreless inning as part of an 8-7 win over Alice Lloyd earlier in the week. For the week, he had a 0.00 ERA with three hits, five strikeouts and no walks over 8.0 innings.
Asbury (11-9, 5-3 KIAC) hosts Kentucky Weslyan for its next game on March 23.
