KIAC Baseball Player of the Week: Dallas Murphy III (Asbury)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Senior left fielder Dallas Murphy III of Asbury University hit .529 in six games last week to lead the Eagles to a 5-1 record and earn KIAC Baseball Player of the Week honors for March 14-20.
A Lexington, Ky., native, Murphy was 9 for 17 at the plate with six runs, two doubles and five RBIs. He was the top hitter on the week for the Eagles, who swept Brescia in a KIAC series and split a doubleheader with Alice Lloyd.
Murphy had a hit in all six games and posted three multi-hit games. His slugging percentage for the week was .647, he picked up three walks, and he was 3 for 3 in stolen bases.
Asbury (11-9, 5-3 KIAC) plays Kentucky Wesleyan on Wednesday, March 23.
