KIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week: Emily Weiss (IU Southeast)

FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Southeast freshman pitcher Emily Weiss went 3-0 with a 1.67 ERA last week to earn KIAC Softball Player of the Week honors for March 14-20.

A native of Evansville, Ind., Weiss tossed three complete games to help the Grenadiers go 4-2 on the week. The big win was a 5-2 win over Rio Grande as IU Southeast split the doubleheader. In the game that Weiss pitched, she won with six hits in seven innings. She struck out three, walked none and gave up just the two runs.

Weiss also beat St. Mary of the Woods with a three-hitter over seven innings. She struck out five, walked one and gave up just one earned run. The other game on the week had a complete-game win over Ohio Christian that included five strikeouts, no walks and two runs allowed.

IU Southeast (10-11, 3-1 KIAC) gets back into action today, Tuesday, March 22 versus Taylor (Ind.).
