KIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week: Emily Weiss (IU Southeast)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Southeast pitcher Emily Weiss was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA last week to earn KIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week honors March 21-27.
A native of Evansville, Ind., Weiss is a 5-6 freshman who pitched a total of 11 innings in a doubleheader sweep of Brescia in KIAC play. She pitched four innings and gave up only one hit in a run-shortened game, 10-0. She followed that up with seven innings of four-hit ball in a 5-0 win. She struck out five and walked one on the day.
For the year, Weiss is 9-5 with a 1.95 ERA. She is fourth in the KIAC in ERA and also fourth in opponent batting average (.215). IU Southeast (14-11, 5-1 KIAC) is tied for first place in the KIAC and visits Spalding (Ky.) on March 30 for its next games.
