KIAC Softball Player of the Week: Ariel Gaskill (CCU)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Ariel Gaskill from Cincinnati Christian had a big doubleheader versus Union (Ky.) and thus was named the KIAC Softball Player of the Week for March 21-27.
A 5-3, freshman infielder from Noblesville, Ind., Gaskill was 6 for 8 in the doubleheader versus Union, during which CCU earned a split with a 12-4 win and an 11-7 loss.
Gaskill was 2 for 4 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs in the opening win. She was 4 for 4 with a double, another home run and three more RBIs in the nigthtcap. She hit .750 with a 1.625 slugging percentage for the week.
For the year, she is hitting .536 with 26 RBIs, both of which lead the KIAC. She is seventh in the nation in batting average and second nationally in RBIs per game (1.5 per game).
