FLORENCE, Ky. -- After the conclusion of the winter sports season, Point Park (Pa.) University remains in the lead for the KIAC Commissioner's All-Sports Cup. The KIAC office has released the updated standings after the end of the men's and women's basketball seasons.

The KIAC Commissioner's Cup is awarded at the end of each school year to the member school with the best overall performance in the KIAC standings throughout the year. This year's winner will be announced after the conclusion of the spring sports seasons when all the standings are finalized.

The KIAC Cup standings are tabulated based on the regular-season standings in each of the KIAC's championship sports. There are 13 schools in the conference, and thus, 13 points are awarded for first place, 12 for second place and so on. Each school's point total is divided by the number of sports sponsored at that school to produce an average. An average of 13.00 would represent a perfect score and first place in every sport sponsored by a school.

Since KIAC basketball is separated into KIAC Colonial and Capital divisions, ties in the standings were broken based on KIAC winning percentage as the first tiebreaker and playoff seeding as the second tiebreaker. Points were shared for schools that had the same KIAC record and the same playoff seed.

The KIAC Cup standings after the winter season have Point Park in the lead with an average of 11.14 points. Point Park earned nine points from each of its basketball teams for a total of 78 points through the completion of the winter season. Point Park led after the fall season with an average score of 12.00.

Asbury moved up from third place to second place and has an average of 10.69 points. The Eagles earned the maximum 13 points for their women's basketball championship and had men's basketball earn 5.5 points and make the playoffs. Just like the fall, Asbury leads the conference in total points with 85.5.

IU East had the biggest jump in the standings from sixth place to third place and has an average of 10.33 points. The big jump was as a result of the Red Wolves' men's and women's basketball teams finishing first and second in the standings for 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Rio Grande is in fourth place after the winter season with an average of 10.21 points. The RedStorm had both of its basketball teams make the playoffs.

IU Southeast is in fifth place with an average of 8.5 points followed by Brescia in sixth with 8.0 and WVU Tech in seventh at 7.57. Ohio Christian (7.14) and IU Kokomo (7.1) are next followed by Carlow (6.43), Cincinnati Christian (6.07), Alice Lloyd (5.6) and Midway (3.3).
