KIAC Baseball Games of the Week: WVU Tech at Point Park

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University hosts WVU Tech for the KIAC Baseball Games of the Week April 1-2 in a matchup of second- and third-place teams in the KIAC standings.

WVU Tech (17-9, 9-3 KIAC) is in second place and 2.0 games out of first place. Point Park (14-13, 8-4 KIAC) is tied for third place and is 3.0 games out of first. The teams meet Friday at 1 p.m. (DH) and Saturday at 12 p.m. (DH) at Point Park Field at Green Tree Park in Pittsburgh.

It's a matchup of Point Park with the top team ERA in the KIAC at 3.99 against the top hitting team in the KIAC of WVU Tech with a team batting average of .326. Point Park is third in the conference in hitting at .280. The WVU Tech pitching staff is second in the conference in team ERA at 4.61 and first in opponent's batting average at .269.

WVU Tech won its first eight KIAC games and its last conference series was two weeks ago with losing three of four to IU Southeast. Point Park has won eight straight KIAC games since opening up by being swept by IU Southeast.
