KIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week: Jenna Jones (Rio Grande)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande junior Jenna Jones tossed a pair of two-hitters to repeat as KIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 4-10.
Jones, a right-hander from Lancaster, Ohio, improved to 12-0 and lowered her ERA to 1.27 on the year with two-hitters versus Carlow and Point Park.
She did not give up an earned run on the week and gave up just one run on four hits in all. Jones struck out 12 and walked five in the 13 innings on the week.
Jones leads the KIAC in wins, ERA and opponent batting average (.194). She is 17th in the NAIA in ERA and 19th in opponent average. Rio Grande (26-7, 13-1 KIAC) has its next games April 12 at Kentucky Christian.
