IU Southeast's Logan Coughlin named NAIA Baseball Player of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – IU Southeast senior leftfielder Logan Coughlin has been named the NAIA National Baseball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Coughlin is the first IU Southeast student-athlete to earn the NAIA Player of the Week award since it began during the 2011-12 school year.
Coughlin was selected based on his performances from April 4 - 10 and was chosen from a pool of conference/Association of Independent Institutions award winners.
He hit .750 last week (12-for-16) with seven runs scored, four doubles, two triples and two home runs. Coughlin drove in 11 runs as the Grenadiers went 5-0 on the week. They defeated No. 24 Lindsey Wilson 5-4 and swept a four-game series from Ohio Christian.
Coughlin recorded three RBI in three-of-the-five contests this week and had a slugging percentage of 1.625.
He had a career day against Ohio Christian on April 8, as he recorded or tied season-highs in at bats (five), runs scored (three), hits (five), RBI (three), triples (one), home runs (one) and total bases (eight).
The Grenadiers (23-11, 15-1 KIAC) travel to Owensboro, Ky. to begin a four-game series with the Brescia Bearcats on Friday at 5 p.m.
