IU East's PA "Voice of the Red Wolves" elected to NAIA role
RICHMOND, Ind. -- Dennis Hicks, Registrar at Indiana University East, was elected to serve as the Vice Chair on the 2016-17 NAIA Registrars Association Executive Council.
The election was held during the American Association of Collegiate Registrars (AACRAO) annual meeting in Phoenix earlier this spring.
Hicks' year as Vice Chair will be followed by a term as Chair and them Immediate Past Chair.
IU East fans know Hicks as the volleyball and men's basketball public address "Voice of the Red Wolves."
Hicks is also currently serving as the first "Conference Registrar" for the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and is a member of the conference's "Eligibility Committee."
Dennis has served as a university registrar for 26 years, and has been the registrar at Indiana University East since 1998. He has been IU East's chief athletic eligibility certifying official since the school joined the NAIA in 2007.
He also is a member of the National Association for Sports Public Address Announcers (NASPAA), the professional association for sports public address announcers.
