KIAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Gary Olson (Point Park)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University runner Gary Olson posted the fastest 1,500-meter time in the KIAC this year at the Slippery Rock University Open to register KIAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Olson, a freshman from Erie, Pa., ran the 1,500 in 4:11.13 to establish a school record and place third at the NCAA Division II meet. He was also eighth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:02.31, which was third on the Point Park team.
Next up is the KIAC Championship Meet this Saturday, April 30 at Rio Grande (10 a.m.).
