FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University shortstop Jake Horew took over the conference home run lead and earned KIAC Baseball Player of the Week from April 18-24.

A junior from Pittsburgh, Pa., Horew now leads the KIAC with eight home runs and is second with 40 RBIs after hitting .600 with two home runs and 13 RBIs in five games on the week.

Horew was 9 for 15, scored five runs, walked three times and tallied three multi-hit games. A highlight was blasting a two-run homer and a three-run homer in the same game, a 12-0 win over Asbury. He also had a game later in the series at 3-for-3 with five RBIs.

The big week upped his average to .392, which is fifth in the KIAC. He also leads all KIAC shortstops, second and third baseman in fielding percentage at .980.

Point Park (24-20, 17-7 KIAC) finishes up the KIAC regular season this weekend with four games at Brescia (Ky.).
