KIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week: Jenna Jones (Rio Grande)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande (Ohio) ace Jenna Jones is the KIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season after tossing a two-hit shutout versus WVU Tech from April 18-24.
A junior from Lancaster, Ohio, Jones upped her season record to 16-0 and lowered her ERA to 1.04 by blanking WVU Tech over seven innings. She struck out three and walked three in the outing.
Jones ranks 10th in the NAIA in ERA and eighth in total earned runs allowed with just 16 in 107 innings pitched. She has given up just 69 hits on the year.
Jones and the RedStorm are 36-7 overall, 17-1 KIAC, ranked No. 24 in the NAIA Softball Top 25 and take the No. 1 seed into this weekend's KIAC Softball Tournament April 29-30 at Owensboro, Ky.
