KIAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Katie Guarnaccia (Point Park)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore distance runner Katie Guarnaccia won the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Division II Slippery Rock University Open to highlight her earning of the KIAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for April 18-24.
Guarnaccia, from Pittsburgh, Pa., won the 5K by 19 seconds with a time of 18:24.80. That came after she had already placed in the 1,500 meters earlier in the day. She was fifth in that race at 5:02.29.
Next on the schedule is the KIAC Championship Meet this Saturday, April 30 at Rio Grande.
