KIAC Softball Tournament Day 1 Recap: Top 4 seeds advance to Saturday

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The top four seeds have advanced to the final day at the KIAC Softball Tournament, which began with eight teams and 10 games on Friday, April 29 at Panther Creek Park in Owensboro, Ky., and hosted by Brescia (Ky.) University.

Friday's 10 games brought the tournament field down to four teams, and play is scheduled to resume on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT. Check KIACSports.com for updates on results and the tournament schedule.

No. 1 seed Rio Grande (Ohio) (38-7, 17-1 KIAC) will meet No. 2 seed IU Southeast (32-15, 15-3 KIAC) in the winner's bracket final on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT

No. 3 seed Point Park (23-17, 14-4 KIAC) will face No. 4 Carlow (24-11, 10-8 KIAC) in a loser's bracket game at 10 a.m. CT with the loser eliminated.

Below are Friday's results with links to box scores of all 10 games and an updated bracket. Saturday's lineup, which will include at least four games and five if necessary, is also included.
