RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- A matchup of the conference leaders in team earned-run average is featured in this week's KIAC Softball Games of the Week with Point Park (Pa.) University at the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) on Sunday, April 10 at 1 p.m.

Rio Grande, which took a record of 22-7, 9-1 KIAC into Friday's games with Carlow and is receiving votes in the NAIA Softball Top 25 Poll, leads the KIAC and ranks ninth nationally in team ERA at 1.85. Point Park (10-14, 4-2 KIAC) is second in the conference with a team ERA of 2.81, the only other KIAC squad under 3.18.

Sunday's doubleheader was originally scheduled for Saturday, but it has been pushed back one day due to the weather forecast. Rio Grande will broadcast both games live on its Stretch Internet portal. Live stats available via Dakstats.

Point Park's scheduled games Friday at Ohio Christian have already been postponed due to weather. Rio Grande is scheduled to host Carlow on Friday for a doubleheader at 1:30 p.m.

Rio Grande won three of four in the season series between the teams last year. The RedStorm have won seven straight conference games to run its record up to 9-1 KIAC. Rio Grande battled No. 5 Campbellsville (Ky.) midweek but lost, 5-0, in its last game. Rio Grande is 6-0 at home.

Point Park has won five in a row and is 5-1 on the road. The Pioneers started the year 2-10 with a week's worth of tough opponents in Florida to begin the season. Point Park is 8-4 since then.

With pitching in the focus, Rio Grande has Jenna Jones with a 10-0 record and 1.39 ERA and Kelsey Conkey at 10-5 with a 1.93 ERA. Point Park counters with Ashley Iagnemma at 4-6, 1.78 ERA and 70 strikeouts. Hannah Harley is 5-6 with a 3.37 ERA.

Rio Grande's top bats are Gabby Gregg hitting .429 with 15 RBs and Tayler Arndt hitting .391 with team highs of three homers and 25 RBIs. Point Park has Jessica Beitler hitting .338 with four home runs and 10 RBIs.
