Rio Grande repeats as KIAC Women's Track & Field champions
RESULTS
RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- The University of Rio Grande won the team title at the KIAC Women's Track & Field Championship Meet for the second year in a row on its campus Saturday.
The RedStorm scored 287 points to take first place of seven teams. Point Park University placed second for the second year in a row, and Indiana University East was third.
Tyanna Petty led the way for Rio Grande as the top point scorer and the KIAC Female Most Valuable Performer. The RedStorm's Bob Willey was chosen as KIAC Coach of the Year.
IU East's Kristen Miller earned KIAC Female Newcomer of the Year honors. Faith Laymon of Ohio Christian is the KIAC Female Comeback Athlete of the Year.
Complete meet results are available at the link above. The top three finishers in each event were named KIAC Women's Track & Field All-Conference.
Also named was the KIAC Men's Track & Field Champions of Character Team, which had with one member of each team chosen who best exhibits the five character values of the NAIA's Champions of Character program of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
