(By IU Southeast Sports Information)

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The IU Southeast baseball team lost a 15-3 decision to Lindsey Wilson College to end the Grenadiers' 2016 season Thursday.

IU Southeast (43-15) had chances to capitalize offensively but left a season-high 16 runners on base in the game. They out-hit the Blue Raiders 20-18 but could only manage to get three runs across.

The Grenadiers trailed 4-0 in the top of the fourth when they cut the lead in half when Zach Reboulet and Trent Simpson hit back-to-back RBI singles.

The Blue Raiders responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame. Austin Atwell hit his second home run of the day, a solo home run of the left-field fence.

The Grenadier defense committed five errors in the game, including two in the bottom of the sixth when Lindsey Wilson scored five runs to put the game away.

Eight Grenadier batters had multi-hit games, including Tyler Adams, Logan Barnes and Trent Simpson, who led the Grenadiers with three hits each. Every Grenadier had at least one hit.

IU Southeast finishes the season with a school record 43 wins and has already earned the program's highest ranking ever in the NAIA Coaches' Poll at No. 19. The 15 losses are tied for the second-fewest in program history.
