No. 2 Rio Grande has Guinovart score RSC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Jorge Guinovart scored the game-winning goal for No. 2 University of Rio Grande in a 2-1 win over No. 19 Lindsey Wilson to earn River States Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors Sept. 26.
Guinovart, a junior from Barcelona, Spain, gave the RedStorm the victory Sept. 24 when he scored with three minutes left. The game was designated the NAIA Men's Soccer Game of the Week as a Top 25 matchup.
Guinovart has started all nine games for the RedStorm, which is 8-1 overall and 1-0 RSC. For the year, he has five goals, three assists and 13 points.
Rio Grande, ranked No. 2 in this week's NAIA Top 25 Poll, returns to action Sept. 29 at home versus Brescia (Ky.) at 7 p.m.
