Midway's Belt nets RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Midway (Ky.) University goalkeeper Emily Belt had a big week in net to earn River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 26.

Belt, a 5-9 junior from Paducah, Ky., and a transfer from St. Catharine College, totaled 20 saves in three games as Midway went 3-0. She played a total of 180 minutes, appeared in all three games, and the Eagles picked up wins over Berea, 4-1, Pikeville, 1-0, and Oakland City, 4-3.

She amassed 10 saves in the win over Berea and nine more in the win over Oakland City. The 1-0 win over Pikeville was a combined shutout with a teammate.

Midway is now 5-0, and Belt has played in all five games. She has given up four goals for a goals-against average of 1.37. Midway plays its next match Sept. 29 at WVU Tech for an RSC matchup.
