RICHMOND, Ind. – The Indiana University East women's basketball team remained perfect at home and maintained the top spot in the River States Conference East Division standings with a 95-81 victory over Point Park University on Friday in the RSC Women's Basketball Game of the Week.
IU East senior forward Suzy Wollenhaupt scored her 1,000th college point during the victory.
The No. 21 ranked Red Wolves improved to 15-4 overall and 6-0 in the conference. The Pioneers drop to 15-5 and 5-2 in the conference. The matchup was designated as the River States Conference Game of the Week.
KEY MOMENTS
* Wollenhaupt connected on a jump hook in the lane late in the fourth quarter to eclipse the 1,000 point mark for her career. Wollenhaupt scored 824 poionts in three years at Ashland University and has scored 177 points for IU East this season for a total of 1,001.
* The Red Wolves used a pair of 6-0 runs in the second quarter to take a comfortable 47-36 lead into halftime.
SIGNIFICANT STATS
* IU East outscored Point Park 50-34 in the paint for the game and outrebounded the Pioneers 52-29.
* IU East was led in scoring by Tia King, who scored 17 of her 21 points in the second half. Wollenhaupt added a season-high 19.
* Bailey Dreiman collected a season-high 13 rebounds for the Red Wolves.
* Point Park had four players in double figures, led by Maryssa Agurs with 19 points.
* The Red Wolves shot 53 percent from the floor while holding the Pioneers to 37 percent.
