Midway's Ball claims RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week Jan. 9-15

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Midway (Ky.) University guard Breanna Ball had a pair of 20-point games in two conference wins last week to win River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 9-15.

The 5-5 senior from Dayton, Ohio, averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game in RSC road wins at Asbury and Alice Lloyd last week. She had hot shooting with 58 percent from long range (7 for 12) and 75 percent from the foul line (15 for 20).

Ball put up 24 points, five rebounds and five steals in a 92-85, double OT win at Asbury. She made 5 of 7 from the outside in that game. Ball followed that up with 20 points, five rebounds and two treys in a 69-57 win at Alice Lloyd. Ball made 8 of 10 free throws on the day.

For the year, Ball is averaging 14.3 ppg to rank third in the conference. She has led Midway to wins in 10 of the last 11 games and five in a row. Midway (15-5, 6-2 RSC) has its next game Jan. 20 at home versus Rio Grande.
