IU East's Miller notches RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week again
FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU East junior guard Kristen Miller shot 70 percent from the field in two games to win River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time on the season, this time for Jan. 16-22.
Miller, a 5-5 product of Ottawa, Ohio, averaged 17.5 ppg in two Red Wolves wins and shot an efficient 12 for 17 from the floor for 70.6 percent field goals. She was a perfect 6 for 6 from 3-point range and made 5 of 6 free throws for 83 percent.
Miller put up 22 points and connected on four treys in a 79-66 win over IU Kokomo, the RSC Game of the Week. She followed that up with 13 points, four rebounds and 5 of 6 field goals in a 97-61 victory versus Cincinnati Christian. Miller canned two treys in that game.
Miller is second on the IU East team with 12.5 ppg, and she leads the Red Wolves with 53-percent shooting and 70 total assists. IU East is 18-4 overall, 9-0 RSC and ranked No. 21 in the last NAIA DII ToP 25 Poll (Jan. 10). The Red Wolves play their next game at home versus Brescia Jan. 24.
