FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park University's Anna Shields earned two more NAIA No. 1 rankings to win River States Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Jan. 16-22.

A sophomore from Torrington, Conn., Shields registered No. 1-ranking NAIA times in the 5,000 meters and the 800 meters on Friday at the Youngstown State University College Invitational. She did so with a time of 17:32 in the 5,000 meters to best the NCAA Division I field and with a time of 2:15 in the 800 meters to place third behind only two runners from Pitt and the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Shields qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track National Championships in both of the events on Friday. That gives her a total of four NAIA indoor national qualifications so far this season to go along with earlier qualifications in the 1,000 meters and the mile. She also currently ranks No. 1 in the nation in the 1,000 (2:57) and ranks No. 2 in the mile (4:58).

Point Park's next competition is Jan. 28 at the SPIRE Midwest Open at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
