Rio Grande's Massey wins RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Jan. 23-29
FLORENCE, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande runner Brandon Massey won River States Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Jan. 23-29 for his performance at the Findlay Classic over the weekend.
Massey, from Waxhaw, N.C., competed in the 200 and 400 meters, placing in the top four in each event. He had a time of 22.66 seconds in the 200 meters to place first of 37 athletes. The sophomore Massey was fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 51.04 seconds.
He also competed in the 4x400 meter relay, which placed seventh. The RedStorm has its next competition Feb. 4 at the Bob Shannon Invitational in Granville, Ohio.
