WVU Tech's Amitrano digs RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- WVU Tech's Alice Amitrano had a big week in the back row to earn River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week for Oct. 2-8.

A 5-5 sophomore from Rome, Italy, Amitrano collected 66 digs in three matches for an average of 6.60 digs per set. She compiled a serve percentage of .950 and a passing percentage of .975 with only one error in 40 receptions. The Golden Bears went 2-1 RSC on the week.

Amitrano had a week-high of 39 digs in a sweep of Carlow. She also had 17 digs in a win over Rio Grande and 10 digs in a loss at Point Park.

WVU Tech improved to 18-8, 2-5 RSC and play at Ohio Christian Oct. 10 for its next match.
