IU Kokomo's Thomas picks up RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- IU Kokomo outside hitter Lindi Thomas had a big week of defense to pick up River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week for Oct. 9-15.

A 5-9 senior from Parker City, Ind., Thomas was named to the all-tournament team of the Indiana Tech Tournament after averaging 4.75 digs and 3.00 kills per set in four matches. The Cougars swept the weekend, 4-0, to win the tournament.

Thomas totaled 76 digs, 48 kills and just one reception error on the week. On the serve, she had no errors in 16 sets. Big matches included 21 digs and nine kills versus Indiana Tech and 24 digs and 18 kills in a 3-2 victory over Huntington (Ind.). Another double-double featured 16 digs and 15 kills over Lawrence Tech.

IU Kokomo has won 13 in a row to bump its record to 19-8 overall, 7-0 RSC. The Cougars host Cincinnati Christian on Tuesday
