Point Park's Stephens runs to RSC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Point Park University sophomore Xavier Stephens placed first at the Asbury Invitational, a conference preview meet, to claim River States Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 16-22.
Stephens, from Uniontown, Pa., beat the rest of the field of 63 runners by 14 seconds in the race, which was held at the same course as the RSC Championship Meet Nov. 4. Stephens had a time of 27:26 in the 8K for a pace of 5:31 per mile.
This is the second RSC runner of the week award for Stephens, who helped the Pioneers win first place as a team. He will next compete when the Pioneers visit the conference championship in two weeks.
