Midway's Belt gets another RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Midway University goalkeeper Emily Belt is the River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 16-22, the third time this year she's won the award and the second week in a row.
A senior from Paducah, Ky., Belt allowed just one goal in two games as Midway went 2-0, and she also posted her second shutout of the year. That was a 2-0 win over Oakland City, which featured seven saves.
Belt also had a good game in a 6-1 victory over Brescia University, which included two saves. That win kept Midway in the playoff hunt at just one game under .500 for conference play at 2-3-1 RSC. Belt's season record and Midway's overall record is 7-3-1.
Midway's next game is Oct. 26 at Ohio Christian.
