Point Park's Hunter claims RSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Point Park University midfielder Izzy Hunter scored some key goals in a pair of conference wins to earn River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 16-22.
A junior from London, England, Hunter totaled two goals, an assist and five points as the Pioneers went 2-0 on the week with RSC victories over WVU Tech and Rio Grande. Both opponents entered the weekend unbeaten in conference play.
Hunter scored a big goal to stake a 2-0, first-half lead in a 2-0 victory over WVU Tech. In a 3-2, comeback win over Rio Grande, she scored on a PK for the first of three second-half goals for the Pioneers. The comeback was complete when Hunter assisted on the game-winner. Point Park trailed, 2-0, at the half.
Point Park is 8-6-1 overall, 5-2-1 RSC and plays its next game Oct. 28 at Carlow.
