WVU Tech's Rugel earns RSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- WVU Tech forward Meghan Rugel led the Golden Bears to an unbeaten conference weekend to earn River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 24-Oct .1.
Rugel, a freshman from Mesa, Ariz., scored three goals and six points as WVU Tech went 2-0 on the first weekend of conference games. She scored a goal in a 5-1 win over Midway and then scored two goals in a 5-1 victory over Brescia.
That lifted the Golden Bears to 7-4 overall and out of the gate early with a 2-0 RSC record. WVU Tech hosts IU East for its next game Thursday.
