WVU Tech's Reyna posts RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- WVU Tech goalkeeper Martha Reyna posted two shutouts to lead her team to the RSC regular-season title and earn River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Oct. 23-29.
Reyna, a senior from Mexico, blanked Asbury (Ky.), 2-0, and Cincinnati Christian, 3-0, to help the Golden Bears secure an 7-1-1 RSC record, the best in the conference for the regular season.
Reyna had four saves in the win over Asbury and five more in the victory over CCU. She played 90 minutes in each game. WVU Tech bumped its record to 12-5-1 overall. The Golden Bears' next game will be a conference semifinal playoff game, which they will host Nov. 8 versus an opponent that is TBA.
