#4 Rio Grande, WVU Tech representing RSC at NAIA Men's Soccer Opening Round

NAIA QUALIFIERS l SCHEDULE & RESULTS l BRACKET

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The River States Conference will be represented with two schools in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round, which begins Saturday, Nov. 18 at 15 campus sites around the country.

University of Rio Grande is the No. 4 seed in the 31-team tournament while WVU Tech is unseeded but the RSC Tournament champion. WVU Tech advanced past Rio Grande on PKs in the RSC semifinals and won the conference titles over Midway, again on PKs.

Rio Grande (14-1-2) is once again hosting an NAIA Opening Round game, and the RedStorm welcomes Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) (15-3-2) on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET. Rio Grande is making its 17th appearance in the national tournament. The RedStorm was the 2015 NAIA national champion and the national runner up last year.

Cardinal Stritch is the regular-season champion of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Wolves are making their third appearance at nationals and their first since 2013.

WVU Tech is making its third appearance in the NAIA field and its third in a row. The Golden Bears are under .500 overall at 8-9-4 overall and thus they drew a top opponent. WVU Tech plays at No. 2 overall seed William Carey (Miss.) (17-1-0) on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. William Carey is in the national tournament for the 11th year,
