NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The 2017 River States Conference Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team includes 30 student-athletes who earned the academic honor. The 29 honorees this year are up from the 24 last year, and they are spread around 11 conference teams.

To earn a spot on the scholar-athlete team, a student-athlete must have a 3.25 grade-point average or higher, compete in an RSC sport and be nominated by their institution. Point Park (Pa.) University led RSC men's cross country this year with six team members earning the academic honor.

The NAIA has a similar awards program, the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award, which is for juniors and seniors who have a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. The following are this year's conference academic winners.
