IU Southeast's Jackson claims RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Senior forward Joe Jackson had a huge week for IU Southeast to claim River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 11-17.
The 6-7 native of Louisville, Ky., put up 25.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 3.0 assists per game to lead the Grenadiers to a pair of big conference wins. He shot 62 percent from the field (21 for 34) and made 3 of 6 treys.
Jackson started out with 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks in an 87-86 thriller over Alice Lloyd (Ky.). He made 10 of 15 field goals in the game.
Another big performance came versus Asbury (Ky.) with 27 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks in a 93-80 victory. Jackson made 11 of 19 from the floor.
The RSC victories pushed the Grenadiers to 8-5 overall and into first place in the RSC West Division at 3-1 RSC. IU Southeast gets back into action Dec. 29 at Miami Hamilton.
