WVU Tech's Scott repeats as RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- WVU Tech senior forward Michael Scott has repeated as River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 27-Dec. 3, which marks the second time in three weeks that he's claimed the award.
Scott, a 6-8 native of Syracuse, N.Y., had a strong week averaging 18.5 points and 17.0 rebounds per game while shooting 60 percent (15 for 25) from the field and 46 percent (5 for 11) from 3-point range. He did this in a pair of conference road wins at Carlow and Point Park.
Scott's biggest game of the week featured 20 points and 23 rebounds in a 98-79 win at Point Park. He made 8 of 12 field goals, 4 of 6 field goals and also added three blocks and three assists in that game. Nineteen of his rebounds came on the defensive end.
He also had a double-double at Carlow, an 86-75 victory, with 17 points and 11 rebounds on 7 of 13 from the field with a trey.
WVU Tech (7-3, 2-0 RSC) plays its next game Dec. 12 at home versus Ohio Christian.
