#RSC Men's Basketball Weekly Report: Week 10 -- Feb. 10, 2017 #RSC #RSCMBB

FLORENCE, Ky. -- The River States Conference Men's Basketball Weekly Report for Week 10 updates you on the games earlier this week and gets you ready for a big day of important games on Saturday, Feb. 11. Look for this weekly feature at RiverStatesConference.com.

TWO WEEKS TO GO
Saturday, February 11 is the second-to-last weekend of the RSC regular-season schedule. There are six games on the day with three within the RSC West Division, two big ones in the RSC East and one crossover matchup. Check out the game capsules from earlier in the week below to get you caught up. There is also look at the NAIA DII Top 25 Poll and a peak at the weekend matchups.

SO FAR THIS WEEK
No. 12 IU East 78, Rio Grande 70 (2OT) -- No. 12-ranked IU East stayed within a half game of first place in the RSC East Division with a 2OT win over Rio Grande. Kyle Pipenger had a big overtime and finished with 17 points while Jacoby Claypool added 15. Will Hill poured in 21 for Rio Grande.
Ohio Christian 69, No. 11 WVU Tech 64 -- Ohio Christian got a big win in the RSC East by knocking off first-place and No. 11-ranked WVU Tech. Marquis Jackson's 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists led the way. Ryan Atkins was one of three players with 10 points to lead WVU Tech.
Carlow 75, Point Park 74 (OT) -- Carlow got a tip-in from Miles Sunder in OT to win late over Point Park. Charlie Scharbo had a huge game of 32 points and 20 rebounds for the Celtics. P.J. McLaughlin added 18. Point Park had Gavin Rajahpillay with 26 and Jaylen Mann with 22 and 19 boards.
No. 24 IU Southeast 78, Alice Lloyd 64 -- IU Southeast broke open a close game with 47 points the second half. The Grenadiers had led 31-30 at the break. IU Southeast upped its record to 13-2 RSC with 18 from Jamie Johnson. Jake Allen had 15 for ALC, which shot just 33 percent.
Cincinnati Christian 99, IU Kokomo 86 -- CCU won its fourth straight with the victory at IU Kokomo. The Eagles, now in second place in the RSC West, had 23 points from Khari Burton and 22 from Blake Walsman. Trent Elliott led IU Kokomo with 20.
Brescia 91, Asbury 85 -- Brescia scored a crucial home win against Asbury to forged a three-way tie for third place in the RSC West. Alice Lloyd is also involved in the tie. Zach McDaniel scored 25 for the Bearcats, and Tavon Johnson had 24. Trenton Thompson poured in 32 for Asbury.
Cincinnati Christian 87, Midway 58 -- CCU made it five wins in a row with Thursday rout at Midway. The Eagles led, 44-28, at the half on its way to improving to 8-7 RSC for second place in the West. Burton finished with 18, and Walsman scored 17. Midway's Brandon Johnson led all scores with 19.

NAIA DII TOP 25 POLL
This week's NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Top 25 Poll had three teams from the RSC ranked (Feb. 7), the first time all year that has happened. WVU Tech came in at No. 11 for its highest ranking on the year and took top honors within the conference. No. 12 IU East dropped back five spots but maintained a high ranking with its overall strong resume on the year. No. 24 IU Southeast entered the Top 25 with itself having a strong season and leading the RSC West Division. For the complete poll, click here.

The next rankings will be released in two weeks with a release date of Feb. 21. That is the following Tuesday after the end of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 18. The NAIA has adopted a schedule of every two weeks for national rankings this year.

THE WEEKEND AHEAD
The RSC East Division games this weekend feature the first- and second-place teams squaring off as well as the third- and fourth-place teams meeting. The headliner is the RSC Game of the Week of No. 11 WVU Tech at No. 12 IU East, which is also the NAIA Network Division II Men's Basketball Game of the Week. Plenty is on the line in that one. Also on the docket is Rio Grande at Ohio Christian, a matchup teams currently in the playoff picture.

In the RSC West, the three teams that are tied for third place at 7-8 RSC take the focus. Two of those teams go head-to-head with Alice Lloyd (7-8 RSC) at Brescia (7-8 RSC). The third of those teams is Asbury (7-8 RSC), which has to go to first-place IU Southeast and get a win to stay even. Midway travels to IU Kokomo, and Cincinnati Christian visits Carlow to continue the busy weeks for the Midway and CCU.
