CCU's Burton wins RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Feb. 6-12
FLORENCE, Ky -- Cincinnati Christian senior guard Khari Burton averaged 19.7 ppg to claim River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week Feb. 6-12 for the streaking Eagles.
Burton, a 5-8 native of Cincinnati, Ohio, led CCU to three victories last week to run the Eagles' win streak to six in a row. He averaged 19.7 ppg, 6.7 apg, 2.3 spg, shot 59 percent from the field and 86 percent from the foul line.
Burton had 23 points, six assists, four steals in a 99-86 win at IU Kokomo. He then posted 18 points and eight assists in an 87-58 win at Midway and then 18 points and six assists in a 99-78 win at Carlow.
For the year, Burton is averaging 13.9 ppg, and he has 125 total assists. He has led CCU to a record of 12-16 overall, 9-7 RSC for second place in the RSC West Division. The Eagles have their next game Tuesday at Alice Lloyd.
