FLORENCE, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande sprinter Brandon Massey is the River States Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 5, the second time in a row he's won the award.

A sophomore from Waxhaw, N.C., Massey won the 200 meter dash at the Bob Shannon Invitational hosted by Dennison Feb. 4 to highlight his week. His time was 22.34 seconds to move into 14th place on the current NAIA indoor national rankings, and that qualified him with the "B" standard for the NAIA indoor national championship.

Massey had another high finish on the track when he placed third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.09 seconds. He also did well in a field event when he placed second in the long jump.
